What sort of costs are normally involved in fully worked set up.

Say you have a number of companies and trusts involved and covering not only ourselves but also our children who hould some shares in the companies and are benificiaries from the trusts.

I am just going through this procedure and dread to thinkwhat the costs are going to end up like as we are also having retro fit some re assignments within our structure. (this arose as a consequence of finding we are being sued in the middle of working through the will thing)

I know its a bit like 'how longs a piece of string' but your thought would be appreciated,

I would have thought it shouldn't cost more than say $5k absolute maximum for a complex situation.

More likely $1,500 - $3k + GST.

Appreciate any recommendation for a Sydney based solicitor for relatively simple will (with HDT) as well.

Been meaning to do this for a while, but the thought of dealing with yet another solicitor is a good reason for procrastination.

Somewhat like a supermodel, I'm not permitted to get out of bed for less than a deal where there are less than 8 zeros and the legal fees would buy a small luxury imported car...

I'll pm you some suggestions for "ones" whose fees are more reasonable.

I'm about to go through this process myself here in Tassie (so can't recommend anyone in Syney, sorry). The 'one' I've been talking to charges $200/hour, which I understand is pretty normal. I'm yet to get an estimate of the number of hours required though

Perth Solicitor

I met with Susan yesterday & I'm very comfortable with her knowledge and approach. My situation will take several meetings to sort out wills, EPA's, testamentary trusts and a deed to supplement my family trust. I'll report on the overall outcome and cost at the end.

Certainly not the one I used!!!1 They tried to charge me over $12k - have negotiated this down to $7k but still way expensive. (This was for 4 people.)

General question - Ones I have all the paper work back and the POA are lodged can I simply take all this back to my regular solicitor to administer?

You can register the POA yourself. But do you really need to register the POA?

If you want to register just go to LPI and pay the registration fee. Must take a few copies with you though. I think orginal and two copies from memory, but may be wrong.

If you use a solicitor they'll charge btw $80-$120 plus disbursements for simple registration.

In NSW you would probably only need to register a POA if the attorney is going to deal with land - buying, selling, mortgaging etc.
