    intelligence ,
the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills

    this my preferred definition

i have frequently been astounded by people with poor education to solve problems in simple effective ways often using easily available materials
i rarely have to worry about their communication skills because i can see the damn thing working in front of me ( when an educated person would still be drawing blueprints and lodging patents, raising capital etc. )

needless to say if i can see a full working example , i am more likely to invest , than in an alternate scenario .

regarding investment decisions , i do not see education as a major benefit , over the ability to quickly reassess and adapt a different strategy ( if needed )

i would rather plant a fruit tree on my current property and grow from there , than plan an orchard elsewhere hoping future demand stays strong .
