    Hello,

I have been using a spreadsheet for a while now to track my trades but I am now mainly investing and finding tracking my dividends and trust distributions a pain. My friend who is an accountant has recommended https://www.stockportfolioorganizer.com or https://www.quicken.com does anyone have opinions on which of the two programs is better? It looks like stock portfolio organizer only does stocks and such and quicken can also manage general finances, which I don't really need.

I've been using Sharesight (*) for a year or so and have found it to be very helpful, particularly with automatic dividend tracking.

i participate in most of the DRP schemes offered by the shares i hold ( some , like BHP do not have such a plan )

however dividend reinvestment might not suit you

but if ( say) 80% of my dividends go back into the stocks that paid dividends that might make your life simpler ( or be no help at all )

( i tend to grit my teeth and roll-up my sleeves , so always have a ball-park idea on my portfolio performance )
