It's amazing isn't it. I bought in 2005, should have sold in May 2007 but instead sold out in May 2008. Can't believe I rode it from 4000 to 6700 then back down to 5200 or so, and am witnessing it hit 4000 again. Crazy stuff!

    Hmmm...

A colleague a few months ago said the index would get to 3500, I didn't believe him. Now I think I do.

    You are very brave...

I was watching the DOW last night and it was going from -700 to + territory and back down again in a matter of minutes. Very scary stuff.

CBA is a good stock though and banks in general are likely to maintain their huge profits and good dividents so they are on top of my buy list.

Here is some news on CBA

I am definately a coward, will not jump in until I see a rising market, could be a few years off yet.

Our bear market started in November 2007, from what I have read, on average can run for 2 years, time will tell.

For the moment will be in cash and just sit tight.

I've kinda sat on the sidelines for the past 2-weeks....but have continued to drip feed about $100 a day into one of my managed funds...the CFS Geared Australian Share......on days of decline I add another $100....LOL. If you can't time the market...I'm going to spray...LOL.

Though i just recently picked at Atlas Iron at $1.05 the other day......just before the Trading Halt....i'm starting to regret this now....i hope it doesn't drop too badly when it resumes....let's hope the annoucement is something positive.

my medium term trading plan tells me to wait until the xjo starts trending up above its 30w EMA so for the moment i'm not playing that game. it is a great time for day trading though if you can handle the volatility - i made $700 on CBA/BHP about an hour before the 1% interest rate cut, but then lost it on Friday just before the nikkei opened and we went from sideways at just above 4000 to crash down through it.

my only concern with buying up at the bottom with hope that it will rise up again is that coming into slower economic times people will pull money out of their non-real assets first (ie. shares) to shore up their cash reserves. that's what we have been seeing in the past week.

I'm planning to start dollar cost averaging into some index funds at the start of 2009 and might also look to aggresively gear.

Assuming World War III doesn't errupt in the next 3 - 5 years I think we are at the bottom/beginning of what will be some VERY prosperous times for asia.

Just a warning about stock ramping guys - we don't want to get in trouble with ASIC.

well have a look at their product range. I wouldn't say they sell conventional products.

Metal Storm - Unmanned Systems/Robotic Platforms

    Are they developing a Terminator?

It would be great for hitting clay pigeons. Not much chance of missing with more than 1 million rounds per minute...
