This one is also very good
    Valsamis & Associates
    We've had him for years.
He's very competitive and will give you an even better price if you tell him you got his details from the forum.

Location is generally not that important in my opinion - in the past I only ever saw my accountant once or twice a year, but these days with most communication done via email or phone, there's rarely a need for much face-to-face time (although it is nice to get together occasionally for a planning session).

My previous accountant was in Canberra, my mortgage broker is on the Gold Coast, insurance broker in Bendigo, conveyancer in Adelaide, etc.

Unless you plan on visiting them regularly, I wouldn't focus on location but rather on skills and developing a strong relationship with your advisors.

Sorry to bump this thread, but I'm just curious to know what everyone is paying their accountant?

    Totaly agree.
Mine is very complex with multiple IP's and multiple incomes, tones of receipts, depreciations schedules etc so it's hard to compare it with other returns.

However, a friend of mine from the North shore used to pay $450 for a simple return with 1 IP. Now he goes to the accountant I go to @ Beverley Hills.

Best to ring around and get an idea of the costs.
They'll give you a ball park figure of what they charge.
