A sharemarket index which measures both growth and income and assumes that dividends are reinvested.

Non-accumulation indicies do not take income (dividends) into account.

The commonly used indexes in Australia as reported by the media are the http://www.invested.com.au/71/all-ordinaries-index-1280/ and http://www.invested.com.au/71/s-p-asx-200-index-1282/ - neither of which are accumulation indexes.
