I have just found that i was an AMP superannuation policy holder when they demutualised in 1997
The policy was inactive and they have just tracked me down
I believe I should have recieved an allocation of shares at the time,
does anyone know if I can still access these shares or the cash if AMP have sold them on my behalf

    Hi Robert,

You should ring the share registry ComputerShare on 1300 787 272.

    Cheers,

If you have shares you will probably find they are currently priced at less than the taxable value when AMP demutualised and listed so if you sell you are likely to have a capital loss you can apply against capital gains
