    Hi all,

This forum is such a wealth of information. I don't know how people learnt stuff before forums haha!

Well, after weeks of reading I've decided to take the plunge and invest in a managed fund as a start to my investment journey. Thanks to the many members who have adviced people in similar situations as myself (new to investing and a little scared to get started).

But before I do it, I would like to talk to an accountant regarding tax issues, kind of set myself up on the right track. I have no problems paying my taxes but it would really get me if I find out later on down the track that I could have saved $x if I did this or that way. So... an accountant it is!

I'm after someone who understands investments in a combination of managed funds, investment properties and direct shares trading (who doesn't mind minimising what the tax man gets). I'm in Sydney so preferably a Sydney sider in the Hills District area. So, if you are an accountant or you have an accountant that you could recommend please PM me.

    Much appreciated!
    Ben

Our very own Nick Moustacas: [aff]PSWMCL1[/aff] is based in Hurstville, a bit of a hike from the hills district, but you won't find a more knowledgable and investment-savvy accountant in Sydney (in my opinion :D ) - well worth the trip (and you don't need to visit the office that much usually anyway).

    Hi Ben

I can personally recommend MattR who frequents this forum- not only is he savvy and smart, but he lives and practices in the Hills! Look up his member name and give him a tingle- I'm sure he'll be able to help you. Good luck :)

Thanks for the contacts Sim and Jacque. I'll call them both and have a chat next week, pretty keen to get started.

    Hi Glebe
still here, still taking on clients

been off with this terrible flu most of the week but still alive

May be a 2-3 week wait but that would be fairly standard at this time of year for most sole practitioner accountants

Yes, Dale has sold out of his Practice

    Cheers
    NickM

    some further testing done..

IE7 running in windows XP 32 bit (running inside microsoft virtual pc 2007) www.strategicwealthmanagement.com.au actually works.

I thought nick's webserver might have been testing for a specific browser version, I suspect though that the server isnt coping with the 64 bit systems.

on xp32, the brower is version 7.0.5730.11 with a 128 bit cipher
on vista64 the browser is version 7.0.6000.16473 with a 256 bit cipher

(I suspect its more likely to be the browser version rather than the cipher)
