    Hello All,

I'm 27 years old, single, with no kids and have recently inherited some money which I am unsure what to do with. I have $20k in managed funds but no other investments and am keen to get into property investing but am a little rattled by all the speculation of disaster ahead cause by the Sub-Prime situation in the US.
I haven't got a financial advisor, is this essential?
Would really appreciate any advice anybody can offer. Looking forward to starting my investment education:)

I wouldn't be put off by sub-prime. Particularly if you're in it for the long haul (which tipically property is).
My wife & I just purchased our first PPOR. We figured prices across the market will only plateau and not really go backwards.
Besides if you're renting my feeling is rent prices will get squeezed up. So long as you don't overcommit, or as someone said to me the other day "bite off more than you can chew, and chew like hell"
