I was just wondering if it was possible for an Australian (ie. me) to take out a loan in USD to invest in gold? and if so how would I go about it? and what are limitations of doing something like this?

I've searched and searched for something similar in the past, I wanted to borrow from Japan at their astronomically low interest rates. But haven't found a way to do it yet (that isn't dodgy).

You'll be hard pressed to get a loan in USD to invest, however you might be able to artifically create this trade by using a combination of CFDs.

I do this using interactivebrokers.com, but do some research first to see if it's appropriate for you.
