Now why didn't anyone take me up on my bet! ;)

    We're looking good team!

Just checked the XJO and its now trading at 4960! Its previous high close is 4956.7 but it has traded higher than that intra-day. So, fingers crossed we'll see a record close today then test 5000 later on this week, maybe even tomorrow if we've broken the shackles of the holding pattern Tropo and I described in the posts above.

    Happy days are here again!!!

 (Not getting TOOOO over exhuberant ;) )

    Cheers,
    Michael.

Couldn't hold onto it. Looks like some profit taking now we're in record territory. Back down to 4943.

    Lets watch the close.

    Cheers,
    Michael.

    Possibly.
Yesterday's gain of 63 points was a bit overdone (panic buying me think).

Exactly, since there's gonna be a helluva lot more of them before those 12 trading days are ended! ;)

    Cheers,

Yes, let's hope it's not a poultry return for the remainder of the quarter :p or I'll end up with egg on my face :D

    Off like a rocket!

    Or then again...

Just checked the ASX and the ASX200 is up 31 points on opening to 4963! Caught its breath yesterday closing marginally down, then rebounded upwards this morning. Sentiment seems to have turned positive again after the reporting season has ground to an end. Looking very solid to run the next leg of the race now and blow through the 5000 barrier and keep sprinting.

Very VERY happy days. Looking forward to a 5% distribution from my NavTrade this month... ;) OK, well you KNEW I was an optimist didn't you. Word on the street is 3% or thereabouts at this stage with some more chickens left to hatch I reckon.

    Cheers,
    Michael.

    Woohoo!

Up 28 points on the open to 4974. I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest that today will be a record close!

BHP and RIO were both up heaps overnight in London so should add some weight to the ASX today.

Loving the ride, even the downside makes me smile. :D :D

    ;)

    Cheers,
    Michael.

I reckon 5000 is out of reach for today, but we should still see a record high close. Its holding at around 4970 odd and the previous high was 4956.7

    Cool,
    Michael.

Agreed, for the intra-day top. I'm now just focussing on the close. We've already registered the new high for the index which is awesome, if we close at a new high then all the 6 o'clock news watchers will hear the good news too and that can impact investor sentiment.

    * edit * Closed at 4977.9! Yep, a new record high close now too!!! Now what has that done for my NavTrade unit price? I guess I'll have to post that peak-to-peak analysis that I promised too. It looks good for the fund I've got to be saying. ;)

    Cheers,
    Michael.
