I've lost a fairly sizeable amount in shares due to the huge market crash, however my IP I purchased a couple years ago has started making me some money through rental income.

I was wondering if I could offset my share loses against my rental income?

I haven't realized the the share loses yet, I'm hoping the market will improve a little, otherwise I'll wait until I can hopefully offset them against something before realizing them.

I came across this which says you can offset against capital gains in property, but I'm sure rental income is different to capital gains.

    Just wondering if it's possible?

EDIT: I came across this thread in another forum, it looks like I can only offset capital loses against capital gains, not rental income.

    *sigh*
