Hi everyone. I'm new to all this. I'm researching cgt because i've inherited a mess. My mum inherited the family home, along with her 2 children when dad died intestate in 1997. That same year, we (the children) signed a deed assigning all interests in the estate to our mother so she continued to live in the family home until her death some 12 months ago. Now I plan to sell my portion of the home to my sister. Is the cgt back dated to my father's death in 1997?
