    Change is in the air.
With more companies emerging who charge fixed fees for selling, regardless of the property value, it seems that the RE industry is due for an overhaul. With companies like this launching such services www.gogecko.com.au it appears that the profession may be altered sooner rather than later.
    Comments anyone?

    Dunno feel so...............

Fixed price has been around for a long time, as has discount 1 % or less. Its bar ONE method of marketing a service which will always appeal to a particular market segment.

Im not a REA, but would suggest, that like with all things you dont get what you dont pay for.

If buyers and sellers only focussed on price we would all be driving Daewoo Matiz.

I understand your point, Rolf. However, the old adage that "You get what you pay for" is not so black and white in the service industry. Products are different, and consumers are smart enough (in most cases) to SEE quality before they buy and make a decision.
REA's can only attempt to sell the quality of their services before one signs up with them, however, and this is where the problems can begin. Sure, there are superior salesmen/women out there, but with all the hype generated by some agencies, it's sometimes difficult for consumers to know who to select for the job.
