    Looks good Nige :)
Wish I could say the same about the liberals but I'm afraid the younger generation are all about moving onto Labour for the next term.

    Tax cuts...

    Hi everyone,

Is it me or do other people think that cutting the marginal tax rates even further is like throwing petrol on a fire?

    Pledge to cut tax - Economy - Federal Election 2007 - smh.com.au

There is a blog there which people give Johnnie a caning for "trying to bribe" them.

I'm more worried about interest rates more certainly being raised after everyone has more money in their pockets to spend and inflation rising.

    Anyone else a little worried?

    Cheers,

    Dan

PS Why do they always decrease the tax on the high ends? Why don't they ever change the tax-free $6,000 to a higher amount??? (Surely it would have the same affect making the tax-free threshold $7,000???)

that's the first thing they should have done if they wanted to win extra votes
Helping out the top end is ok for their back pocket but does not win the extra votes they need...
    Cheers

Tax cuts are all very well...but to be honest I'd really rather the governments at both state and federal level reinvested in the country's essential infrastructure and services.

Even putting the media's sensationalism aside, the state of NSW's hospital system seems appalling.

More spend of infrastructure and training/paying nurses, ambos, police and fireys would be money well spent I think.

Transport infrastructure is another area in desperate need of investment imho.

    Stepping off the soapbox now.

    Cheers
