I am very new to share trading (never done it before) and am currrently interested in investing in ETFs:p. I am interested in Country ETF predominantly Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Brazil, India.

Hopefully someone in this forum could give me some pointers here.

    1) What is the advantage of investing om ETF via the ASX versus those of of an overseas stock exchange e.g. Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Singapore Stock Exchange?
    - Lower trading cost
    - Trades are predominantly in USD thus no exposure to USD/AUD exchange rates (one of my goals is to retain USD for other expenses)?
    - Favourable AUD/USD rates currently, thus higher buying power?

    2) If at the end of day, I would like to hold on to USD. Would it be beneficial to trade on the ASX versus overseas stock exchange? Would it make any differences?
