FIDO is the consumer website of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). ASIC, as most of you know, is the consumer protection regulator for financial services. Their role, as described on their site, is to basically "protect investors, superannuants, depositors and insurance policy holders. We also regulate and enforce laws that promote honesty and fairness in financial products and services, in financial markets, and in Australian companies"

I thought it might be useful to draw this site to the attention of new starters, in particular, as well as those who've never seen it before. It's actually quite practical in terms of tips etc and has some valuable info on it, including the new HOME SAVER ACCOUNT recently introduced by the Federal Govt, as well as great explanations about all types of financial products. Definitely worth a read.
