There is some feedback in one of the other forums, worth having a read under Investment Strategies from memory.

Is this the group that arranges capitalising of interest? (or paying interest on a loan with another LOC loan).

I would be a bit worried about this strategy after the latest TR from the ATO. Would be best to consider a private ruling maybe before entering into such an arrangement.

    Hey all

I understand most Canterbury clients do get a private ruling.

Canterbury is closely associated with Julia Hartman who is a regular on some business channels on Foxtel. Her main interest seems to be the issue of capitalized interest. She has also written a few books with Noel Whittaker. She has done a submission to the government on this same matter.

To get a good understanding of the law on it all, see the website for her company BAN TACS Accountants Pty Ltd - Rental Property, Tax, Capital Gains, Fringe Benefit - Look under “capitalized interest”.

How did you guys get on with CPS? You would be 2 years into the program now if you started in 2011...

    Hi

Everything is going well. We have a few investment properties that are valued a bit more than we paid for them. There has been no real capital gains yet (after all who has had them recently?) but we feel certain the green shoots are returning. In reality we would like to get a few more properties before the green shoots get any bigger. Just now our loan levels are decreasing as promised by CPS, and that’s all we can do while we wait for the capital gains. We haven’t branched into the passive income stuff yet, as the timing is not yet right.

    Cheers

This response will no doubt be deleted within a few hours. Ut seems it is not permissible for anyone to have anything other than a glowing opinion of CPS.

This is not a true forum. Only positive comments prevail. The site admin is bullied into deleting unfavorable submissions. Weak.

It's not that you aren't allowed to have a negative opinion - it's how that opinion is expressed which is problematic and results in posts being deleted.

For the most part there have been only one or two people who sign up with multiple usernames over time and post the same garbage and accusations over and over again. This is someone who obviously has an axe to grind and is not interested in constructively discussing the company.

You are more than welcome to share your personal experience with the company - positive or negative, provided you can do it without resorting to emotive language and unsubstantiated accusations of wrong-doing.

I would encourage some genuine discourse about the topic, rather than having to put up with the same anonymous posters making the same complaints over and over again.
