    Just joined and saying hi.
Another guy who works in IT.

Been messing around with managed funds and some share investments for a few years as it is a slightly more interesting way of saving than a bank account.
This year started a St. George margin loan.
Now looking for information on how I can work in a home loan with my investment plans.
Also post like aus.invest (usenet/google groups) but it is overwhelmed with trolls and spam.

I have a blog at A Random Person’s Random Investments

    Hi Random Person.

Great to have you on board.

How do you select your share investments; randomly with a dart board?;)
    (sorry - pathetic I know)

    Cheers,

    Steve

Hi, thats actually not a bad idea:
Investor Home - The Wall Street Journal Dartboard Contest
though a fair portion of my portfolio is ASX200 and property index funds (SPDR) so thats not too different anyway.

I reckon selecting shares with a dice using the St. George Margin Loan Acceptable Securities List as a source would work out just fine in the long run.

Also getting a monkey to choose them from the paper evidently works quite well:

    bye!
