Brisbane's population growth now seems to be running lower than Sydney's and Melbourne's Media release by Michael Matusik Media Releases
Thanks for that Bill Very interesting House prices have certainly played a part in the slowdown, I would imagine. Once upon a time (not too long ago) Brisbane's median was almost half that of Sydney's. Those times are long gone but why oh why would they all want to migrate to Melbourne?!!!!
Employment is a key factor for people moving from 1 city to another. If employment is there, why not? Cheers
Because Melbourne is so marvelous that it makes Sydney look like the redneck backwater that it is! Go Melbourne! Mark P.S. Pies for Premiers!
Oh I love Melbourne as much as the rest of you here, but Sydney's where my heart's at State govts aside....
Seriously though.... it appears as though recent house price movements haven't made Brissy as attractive as it was in the early 000's to all those migrating north. Then there's also the increased maintenance on all those Queenslanders and Post Wars I love 'em but I don't like the repainting costs!!
Melbourne born and bred mate. Now, let's all sing along: "GOOD OLD COLLINGWOOD FORVER, THEY KNOW HOW TO PLAY THE GAME...." Mark
