    ASX200 down 82 points today.........now that's a solid one day price fall!

If volatility is the name of the game then it looks like the game is in play........

    What a loooooovley day . . . :)
Well it is rare for anyone to be happy to see the value of their funds go down, BUT:

    1) We were buying shares at a decreasing cost. (Cheaper = Value)
    2) We beat the market by 0.19%. (Which is good for the shareholders and saved the unit holders 0.19% for the day! (That would be 47.5% saved p.a. :p . . . ah, the last of the great extrapolators!)

    regards,

    Steve

PS: We are down to our last approx 12% of cash, or lets hope the market goes up again over the next couple of days . . . or this would be a great time to invest in more units :)

You may get your wish - dow up 126 points overnight.
If our market reaction yet again mirrors the US (or should I say over-reacts such as yesterdays 1.76% down compared to Wall St down .6% the previous night) we could be in for a big day today.
Interesting that the futures are -2 points right now though

Head down tail up completing margin loan application, but I believe the process then takes about a week. Perhaps the market will drop further :D

    Perky,

Yesterday ( 19-th of Oct ) was an anniversary of Black Monday in 1987.

    Steve,

Cool, we got in on Friday last week for a unit cost of $1.0723. I know the market's slid since then but I think that we still got in at a pretty good buying price.

    What's today's unit price?

    Cheers,
    Michael.

There's a bear in there, and stories to tell... :)

You're right, it looks like closing red. But this volatility must be good for DCT! Wonder if Steve will close in the red...

    Cheers,
    Michael.

    Guys,

The ASX is down 50 points on opening. The all ords is back below 4300! At this rate Steve will have no cash left in his fund.

She better bounce back at some stage or this will be a very bumpy bear to ride.

    Cheers,
    Michael.

    Sim,

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Wouldn't want a margin call on day 3 of owning the stock. She's down almost 70 points now. That's pushing 2%!

My LVR is 44.72%. Don't know how much that means she can fall before the MC comes into play...

    Cheers,
    Michael.

    44.7% is plenty of space!

    I'm at about 52%.

    Michael,

By the looks of it, you're in at 50%. However, have a squizz in your SoA - it'll be in there.

Note to those that are margined with Lev Eq. If you are margined at 50%, the value of the fund would need to drop by 33.33% (according to the table on page 8 of the LE PDS) for a margin call to occur.

    Mark

P.S. Michael - you still paying us a visit tomorrow arvo after the course?

Doesn't this pretty well happen every October?

Be interesting to see what was happening this time last year - anyone got the data handy?

    Mark,

Thanks for that. I figured I had a pretty hefty buffer given my modest leveraging.

Drop me an email with the specifics of the venue address and some timings and I'll see if I can drop by. Kay and I have hired a car and will be doing the circuit of some new developments by ourselves on Saturday. Everywhere from NorthRidge up near Redcliffe down to Windemere near 17 mile rocks. Just thought we'd fill the space and get a feel for some options before Roger shows us the "good stuff" on Sunday.

If we're swinging through town at the right time then I'll see if I can drop in and say G'Day.

    Cheers,
    Michael.
