More bad news for construction sector

    And for tradies in general. Last week I spoke to a builder who told me he's had to let his contractors know to look for work elsewhere for a while, until things improve in the renovating sector. People just aren't spending the money on home improvements lately like they used to.
    Not surprising, given the belt tightening that's been going on since 2007.
    Good news is that petrol seems to be slipping back to last year's prices- I paid $1.32 at the pump the other day and realised it wasn't that long ago that it was 40c more.
