I've been working on the financing of a management buy out involving acquisition of a New Zealand business. Financial close was in Auckland yesterday. We had Kiwi lawyers working on it for us but when we got this email explaining a delay I wonder whether I should have flown over for the deal after all :D

I was pleased that the NZ firm were keeping us abreast of developments. :p

News article confirming they weren't pulling our leg here...

Yeah, I heard about that on the news the other day - we were originally planning to be in Auckland this week doing some training, and the training centre is on the first floor of a building that overlooks Queen St - so we would have had a bit of a distraction during the class.

We were in Brisbane instead - all we got was nice weather.

Just to lower the tone further, I'm sure there was an article in the fin review this week with a headline something like "Investors to expose themselves offshore"... with conduct like that I'm glad they're leaving the country first  :p :D

    Cheers

Was quite bouncey a few years ago. Went droopey in the last few years, lack of underlying support. Looking fairly flat now.

Jacque, was that by chance a misspelling of 'hooters' ? ;-) If so, judging by the SMH article, you're right ! Now if someone would just airbrush the dude in the leather jacket out of the picture :)

Just happened to be in Auckland City when the parade was on, Queen Street in the City was blocked for about an hour. They claimed in the morning paper that more people watched " Boobs on Bikes" than the annual Santa Parade.
It was a bit of a Hoot.
