From the audio, I understood that he's minimising currency exposure by keeping any cash holdings in AUS$ as oppose to US$ as they were before.

Usually takes up to a week after a distribution for unit prices to be recalculated.

Australian Unity took 14 days last quarter...

UBS updated their price to 2nd July this afternoon with a 39 cent drop (12.8%) however nothing has been published about how much is a distribution....

The question is how much will you pay in fees - the drop in unit price pretty accurately shows the gross distribution (they are directly related after all), but how much you get in hand will depend on fees and other gotchas.

MER is only 0.8% and no performance fee as well, they quoted last week a distribution of about $0.28 so its a large variation, just looking forward to the money hitting my account...

all fun and games i guess...

Trying to do some forward planning with regard to the 4th QTR distribution.

I know they normally get credited about the middle of the month but can anyone remember how long it was last year before the actual cents per unit figure was announced.

I'm using the cash to pay for ongoing PPOR renovations and need to know ASAP how much I will have to source from other means for the next progress payment.

Just in case anyone didn't realise, building costs are going through the roof. (so to speak, it's getting done now)

It's a bit of a catch 22 situation. There's delays in getting work done and while you wait the costs are forever spiraling up.

I doubt this situation would be much different anywhere in the country?

There can only be one way property prices can go and isn't down :)

    Guys,

I just got off the phone to my paraplanner friend of mine at Navra and she told me that it is now "at least" 7c on the Aus Retail, and looks like being more. She says every day they calculate it, it sneaks up a little.

She also said my distribution was going to be "at least" $50K! :D Makes for a very happy me. Only $25K left on my PPOR after that!! Woohoo....

PS I wasn't ringing to badger her about the distribution, was actually ringing to discuss another aspect of my financial plan and a decision I'd made which was unrelated and she happened to mention the distribution situation.

    Cheers,
    Michael.

It's great that an income fund is delivering income in the bucketloads.

But just remember that what the funds give in one hand (income), they're taking from the other (capital).

The income and the capital equal the unit price at 30 June 07, what's being determined is the exact portion of each that makes up that unit price.

Only if you invested reasonably late in the financial year (most but not all of the gains from the first 3 quarters would already have been distributed).

If you bought in before July 1 2006, then all of the income for the year is a pure return on your investment and not just a capital conversion.

You could be in for one helluva long dance session. A little birdy told me it could be in excess of 9c :)
