I was in the NavraInvest offices on Friday and Steve showed me a spreadsheet detailing their returns up until the end of trading that day. For the year-to-date as of 12th August, the fund is up 5.24%, and is still outperforming the index YTD, despite slightly less than favourable conditions for the fund in regards to outperformance (ie. it's more difficult to out perform in a strongly rising market).

Apparently the distribution is looking pretty healthy so far too.

Do you think that Steve might be able to post daily prices on this site (say at 6pm that day) instead of waiting till lunch the next day?

    Hi Perky

Yep I could post the daily results . . . but:

It will always be subject to registries audit.

What we don't pick up on the daily close is interest and div payments which only reflect the next morning.

    Todays result:
    NIASIF 0.21%
    ASX200 (0.22%)
    Above 0.43% :D

    15-Aug-05
    YTD NIASRF 5.45%
    Performance ASX200 4.25%
    outperformance 1.20%
    Fee accrual 0.429%
    Net return 5.02%

    A great day!

    Regards,
    Steve

PS: results subject to audit. (Could be slightly diff)

That's a great result so far for only half-way through the quarter ... if you can do it again for the next half-quarter, then I'm going to be very happy come the end of September :D

    Hi Guys/Gals

So if the accrued distribution so far is 4%, does that mean the minimum distro for this quarter will be 4%? Or can the accured distribution fall if things go bad towards the end of the quarter?

Yes the distribution CAN change if the market drops!

    How??

If the market drops say 10% . . . we will be buying heaps. Then as the market starts to increase again the first sales might well be below the average purchase price, which will realise losses against the distribution. As the market increases to above average price, then large profits will be made . . . so it is about timing of the realised profit at the end of a quarter.

    One can never be predictive . . . !

But looking good at this point :)

    regards,
    Steve
