Small business gets a $2.7 billion package of tax breaks that includes an extra $600 tax deduction for any small business that buys and installs a $2000 computer before the end of June.

Now this sounds worthwhile- though it's not really leaving a lot of time to decide what to go for- PC or Mac?! :D
After having a Mac as the family computer, I'm convinced they're now the way to go, however.

Do laptops get covered in the rebate? I'd definitely consider upgrading.

I must admit though surely there are better things to subsidies than the purchase of a PC - as in a big majority of the money spent on a PC will end up going back overseas to Japan, Korea, China or wherever they make the computer, only further exacerbating the trade deficit problem we have, and reducing the potential for the multiplier effect to stimulate our economy.
