As the stock market hits its ups and downs. The film industry has seen profit margins rise each of the last 8 years, while also being the US #1 export(outside of wartime). When the economy is down, the film industry just gets that much stronger. There is always someone watching movies, it is about picking the films that have the greatest chance to succeed, that being family films for the mere fact of the widest market. Kids see movies, who takes the kids? The parents do, parents are not going to take their kids to see rated R movies.
