Property vs. Shares (again) - but do shares work in reality?

    I don't know that, but once we do know, it will be to late...

    But I'm happy to be building up my share portfolio now.. I don't expect to bottom pick it...

    good point. I like the idea of investing for future income streams..

    You can do this yourself by investing in an index-tracking fund. STW for example tracks the ASX200. When a company is replaced, the share position is sold out of the old and in with the new. So that issue (IMHO) is moot.
