    Question : TPD Claim - (TAL / TOWER ?)

    Hi there,

My Husband is suffering severe PTSD (and other related disorders).

He has already had the total of his Super Balance released from his BHP Super Fund, on grounds of Permanent Incapacity. The BHP Trustee granted the release within 4 Weeks of claiming. They were very helpful.

My Husband also has another Super Fund with AUSTRALIAN SUPER. With this fund we are currently claiming on a TPD Policy which was attached to the fund. The insurer for the TPD is, (TAL formally TOWER AUSTRALIA).

It's been just over 6 Months since we lodged our claim and our acting Lawyer has still not received a decision from TAL. The permanence of my husband's injury has been well established and documented, with regards to satisfying the definition criteria.

I thought that TAL (TOWER) would have come to a decision by now. Apparently they are supposed to be a Large Australian Insurer with international backing. I think they also own InsuranceLine as well.

I am just curious if anyone has had any experience with TAL (TOWER) in relation to TPD claims or if they could offer any advice. I have not directly contacted TAL / TOWER at this stage but my Lawyer has done so several times.

    Thanks,

    Casey

    Hi Casey

Unless you have a financial adviser who specialises in insurance advice and can deal with TAL directly on your behalf, then I would suggest that you contact TAL yourself.

I have provided a link to the TAL website which has contact details and the process involved with making an insurance claim: Making a life insurance claim

    Kind Regards

    Thanks Andrew,

I am hopeful of a decision from TAL / TOWER early in the new year. I will keep you posted with the outcome.

Hi. I have had nothing but trouble with TAL and their incompetent claims people. This is one company to steer away from Payments are always late. I hope your claim gets on track.

    Hi Peter

If you have a problem with TAL's claims people, then ask to speak a supervisor and have the issue resolved.

    Kind Regards
