Sydney rental vacancies hit record low
It certainly is still very tight in Inner West Sydney. Anything well priced is being snapped up very quickly.
Interesting to ask PM's about vacancy rates, as I travel around different parts of Sydney. Regarding the north shore, it seems that anything up to high hundreds is still difficult to find quality property, but at $1000+ per week interest wanes significantly. One agent I spoke to had dropped the asking rent from $1800 to $1200 wk to secure a tenant, after a long period of vacancy (almost 6mths).
My view is that to assist - that the govt should look at wiping out stamp duty for investors.
