Hi i have been searching the web hi and low for a simple rental .xl spread sheet where i enter my tenants weekly rent and it automattically enters the paid to date. I was a property manager so know how all the programs work but could never buy a program. I have seen Quicken but for me its too complex.

I have seen free downloads but am reluctant to try.
    Hope someone can help.

Thanks Lura i tried it but when it goes to do the working out i get a big error screen saying i have to be in debug mode. Weird. I have written to the site but no response. It looks promising so hope it works soon.

What you need to do is put in the rent amount in the "Rent" box. Choose whether it is weekly etc in the next box.

Then you place the start date. Leave the Paid to date empty.

Go to the number of days paid - eg if they a week - 7 days.

Press Enter and you will see the paid to date calculated.

If you want to nominate a date that is not a full week, this will calculate it for you also. Useful at vacate if it is only part week.

I'm not sure why you saw the error screen, it worked for me when I tested it.

Let me know how you go.

    CP, if you'd prefer a web-based, self-management application, try Aussie-made Rentwise.

My husband and I created Rentwise to save money on PM fees and after being burned by one too many lazy PMs. Our mission is to make self-managing as easy and cheap as possible so owners can spend their rent money on better things.

Rentwise is in an advanced development phase but CP (and anyone else reading this) we’d really value your feedback as a self-manager. There is no cost involved and you’re welcome to give it a try, for free, for as long as you like.

If you’re interested, please feel free to log on and sign up. Very happy to answer any questions.

Yep, Corinne it's in the testing stage so despite what the site says, it's definitely free for you to use as long as you like. You'd simply just ignore the emails/text that talk about entering credit card details and the limited trial.

If you (or anyone reading this) sign up, please Private Message me to let me know - I'll then ensure we switch off the automatic cancellation after the first 30 days. At least though, you'll get a wholistic idea of how Rentwise is supposed to work, including the signing up and payment processes.

    Cheers,

    Kate
