    Hi there,

Does anyone use newsletter recommendations as the basis of their stock-picking/share investing?

If so, which ones, and how have you fared using this simple strategy?

    Anything to watch out for?

Seems like a good way to get started and learn at the same time.

    Thanks,

    GSJ

I don't invest in shares directly, but I subscribe to Eureka Report and recommend it. It covers direct shares, financial planning, real estate, economics etc.

Of the newsletters I've seen so far: intelligent investor, huntley's, investing times, fat prophets, rivkin report, australian stock report...I like 'Intelligent Investor' the most.

In my view Intelligent Investor is worth the price for the educational pieces alone.

Sometimes they're too conservative for my tastes but...that's probably better than the other extreme.

Further to this, perhaps a good compliment to Intelligent Investor would be Paul Nojins Invest4Profit service. Not so much a newsletter as a tipping service focussed on high growth companies - usually small-mid caps and some resource co's.
