Hi everyone! I'm currently studying for my Kaplan's Superannuation and Retirement Planning (SRP) unit and in the process of attempting my SRP assignment and I am wondering if anyone could assist me and many others out there with this difficult assignment. I have trouble completing the questions, given the lack of assistance and support from Kaplan. Coming from a non-financial background and having completed the other 3 units, I find that this is a technical and specialised unit in comparison to the broadness and generalness of the other 3 units, being Entry Level Competencis (ELC), Investment Planning (IP1) & Risk Management (RM). If anyone is willing to help me and others take a stab in the dark at this assignment, I have attached it here for your convenience. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance.
Hi Zep Welcome to InvestEd. I doubt anyone will do your assignment for you - and you certainly won't learn anything that way. But perhaps if you have a go at the assignment and then post your questions when you get stuck people may be more inclined to assist. Good luck Cheers N
Young Gun can give you some ideas. He helped out some ELC students and they praised him, I'm sure he'll try and point you in the right direction. Cheers, Dan
Final Question 6 - Super assignment I'm having trouble with the last question of the assignment. It's a course on super and then they thrown in a final question which is a "detailed report describing the strategies and types of investments you would consider the couple undertake to satisfy all their goals and objectives..provide reasons, justifications etc etc" What I really dislike about Kaplan and the study notes is that they lack real detail. Such a strategy report even a basic one would be good for a starting point. It's the way I like to operate, I really like to see something similar to give me a feel for it then go from there. I'm not into plagiarism because I don't learn anything, but an example of what they're after would be good.
Hi Tim, The problem with any learning institute is that they can lack detail. They purposely don't put in too much detail as they want you to focus on the wider picture and not on the minute detail. It can make it a little tricky if you are a person who likes the detail. Cheers, Dan
True, but a decent case study in this instance would help. They keep telling me to stop reading to widely and too deeply. I got pretty stuck into some of this stuff in my MBA a few years back and yes I do like detail. I would love to see how they operate and suggest some changes to the way they interact with students.
Hi Tim, This is a diploma course, they only want to know that you grasp the main concepts. Obviously the MBA was quite a few notches higher on the level of knowledge and understanding needed than the diploma. Just think broad and conceptual but no nitty gritty. Good luck, Dan PS If you've already done this at a higher level of learning you may already be RG146. You can check ASIC's training register here http://www.asic.gov.au/eTraining/eTrain.nsf
