For our members based in Sydney, we are organising a family picnic for Sunday December 7th from 11am at Putney Park.

This is a nice little park with a great playground for the kids - and has BBQ facilities, toilets and more.

We'll look at perhaps booking a shaded area - will let you know what we organise.

I've created a Meetup entry for this event - would be great if some of our members can come along - bring a picnic lunch, bring the family with (doesn't matter if you don't have kids - come anyway!)

Here's link on Google maps: Putney Park

It would be great to meet some of our Sydney members!

We'll be there, Sim. I'll also enquire about possibly hiring one of the covered pergola/BBQ areas. Let's just hope it's not as hot as last time!!

    Is this still going ahead?

Put us 3 down as a tentative "yes".

Is there a wet weather "plan b"?

    Cheers
    N.

Yes Nigel, we have 10 definites that I know of, plus quite a few maybes. Sign up for a meetup.com account (link in first post above) so you can RSVP and get instructions.

Jacque - have you looked at booking a covered area ? Would these still be suitable if it rains ?

Would be great to see some more of our Sydney InvestEd members at the picnic - come along, bring the family (or just yourselves if you don't have kids), and have a chat!!

    Hi Dave :)

According to council, shelters can not be booked, so we'll just have to wing it with position. Sim will probably be there first so look out for the MeetUp sign. I know Seechange and his family are going as well, so it should be a good day! I'll be there by 12pm at latest and will be bringing 1 or 2 of the kids with me. See you there.

Does that mean we can book the next picnic at your place ? :D

Seriously though - forecast for Sunday is 25 and occasional showers ... I think we'll be right. Should be a good day - look forward to seeing everyone there.

Looks like it will be a nice day today - great day for a picnic!

It's not too late if you haven't already RSVP'd ... drop in for a chat, bring the kids - they'll love the playground!

I'll be there from about 11am or so ... I'll try and find a nice area and will set up some Meetup signs so you can find us:

Okay - looks like you have to get here really early to get a shelter - lots of people here already and all the shelters are taken. I've found spot with a bit of shade just to the right of the water play area and next to the large rope climbing area. If we find a better spot we may move. I've got some meetup signs up - so keep an eye out for them.

Thanks for organising Sim. Once again, despite the weather (it did rain on us for a little while) we recovered and enjoyed some hearty conversation until after 5pm. Well done to the stayers!!

It was good after that 10 minute rain period !!
The children certainly enjoy that playground, it has to be one of the best in Sydney!!
Until next time....thanks for organising Simon.
