    I don't get it........... :confused:

    US Market goes UP 300 points before the Bill is passed, but then closes DOWN 157 points after the $700bil goes through.

    :confused:

    Ditto Alan.

    Admittedly, I don't have a massive idea how the markets work (don't know if the experts do either though), but I thought the news of the bailout would turn the market around, even temporarily.

    Maybe next week eh.

    Hi,

    It's just market sentiment. The same thing happens when a company comes out with their financials which can be a nice tidy profit though if the market was expecting bigger and better things, the market might start dropping the price of that company. Similar thing, the market might have been expecting more and if it not delivered the market drops a bit.

    It'll be a while until the changes have a noticeable effect as the funds have to trickle down to the banks and consumers.
