    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience in using SMSF to invest in US property. More specifically investing as part of a investor group in purchasing a block of units/trusts.

I have already done some investing directly but am wanting to expand and use a SMSF.

Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Wanting to research what roadblocks there might be with using the SMSF.

Not worth pursuing in my opinion. Too many legal issues.

When investing in an overseas asset, make sure the SMSF has a legal enforceable right to the asset ownership.
The investment strategy of the SMSF must allow for this type of investment.
For details, Google your search terms and all the answers and steps on how to proceed is right there.

The easy option is to put your money in the bank and earn interest. Very low risk and very little effort as well.
However, this was not the question...
