I am in the process of becoming a financial planner.

What exactly do you need to know?

If you are setting up your own business you will need to find a AFSL holder (dealer group) to work with as an authorised rep. This is generally going to be costly. You will also need to consider insurance and CPD points - though some dealer groups will provide this.

A cheaper option would be to find someone to take you on as an employee or a contractor. This may also assist you in learning the ropes as you go along too.

    Hi terryw

I have my diploma and am soon to start my advanced diploma.
Im finding it real hard to break into the industry as its very hard to find anything in the area I am in.
I have even applied for any I could all over Australia and am looking for advice on courses or places that will hire from scratch.

A diploma is a start but you will need to secure a job in a financial planning industry.
