I've been thinking about what do do with my T3 shares. I've been considering the following factors:

    Telstra T3 (TLSCA)is closed at $3.10 today, up 0.08.
Half year results to be announced Feb 21
    Goes ex-dividend on March 3rd
Final installment of $1.60 due by 29 May, payable if shares held on 15 May.
1:25 bonus shares issued if shares held through to May 15.
Sharemarket has been volatile - possibly already in a bear market (may have already traded through an important resistance level)

I'm still chewing this one over so I'd be interested to hear others thoughts and strategies.

    Check T3 chart.
It seems that T3 is losing momentum, and may pull back down again.

I agree regarding the momentum and this can be seen in the chart that was posted. This is similar to the market as a whole.

I was looking for a way of calculating whether to sell now or wait until the final payment, taking into account the bonus shares, extra payment, upcoming dividend and market volatility. Any ideas?

I guess it depends on whether you believe a lot of people are just holding T3 for the last div. and free shares??

Once those dates are passed there might be a lot of selling??

Which way are you willing to bet?

What was your original plan when you bought them?

i must say i flicked mine off yesterday and while im not "happy" i think its a bit safer in the short term. I do think once may passess alot of people will get out and the share price may suffer...

I'll be very interested to see the half year results tomorrow and the market activity which follows.

The results were good. Must be from my wireless broadband purchase during the year.

Yes the results were good. It looks like things might be turning around at Telstra. Still, it's possible that lots of people will sell their installments before the final payment. Also the overall market looks very bearish. So at this stage I'm planning to take the next dividend and then sell shortly afterwards.
