    Hi,

When working out price changes over time, say rent from sep 87, do I:

    CPI sept 1987 = 84 , CPI dec 2009 = 169.5 , rent in 87 = $60.00

so 169.5/84x60 = $121.07 rent in todays money.

    Is that right?

    Thanks, Johny.

Should I use the Consumer Price Index to work out inflation?

    Thanks, Johny.
