Went to a seminar on this new industry launched website (REI) last week and found it very interesting indeed- seems like the RE industry is fed up with the monopoly on their turf by realestate.com and domain.com as well as rpdata.com and so is launching their own site, which encompasses listings as well as data (supplied by EAC which source their sales data from Valuer Generals Office- same place as RPData). It's new beginnings at the moment and fairly fresh but REI is committed to making this site work this time around. They've tried in previous years with no success but with mistakes firmly in the past and lessons learnt digested who knows how successful this could be? It certainly offers much better value for money for both agents and subscribers to the database, and could offer real competition in the dog eat dog world of real estate advertising. Check it out here.
