Despairing at the thread 'scary stuff'.

People don't realise they have completely different philosophies so they cannot see another's opinion.

I thought I might add to the general investing glossary :

Value Investor: Someone who has not bought a security in the last 3 years

Technical Analyst: Someone who reads tea leaves and talks in code

Gearing: Partying with other people's money - great in good times

Margin Call: The party is over (see gearing)

Buy and hold: Somebody who does not have a stop loss or margin call

Churning: Someone who does have a stop loss or margin call

CGT: An unfortunate side-effect of realising assets

Investment Forecaster: Somebody who has failed at weather forecasting

Anybody else have a contribution ?

    Cheers,

    Rob
